Job description: Permanent, Full Time (Monday – Friday) 35 hours per week + participation in out of hours rota.We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Surveyor to ensure that EHA residents receive a high quality, customer focused responsive repairs and planned works service and that all EHA’s properties are effectively and efficiently maintained to the required standard, with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction.Our housing stock is across all local authorities in Essex, Suffolk Coast, and three areas of London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, and Borough of Havering.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out pre-inspections, building and stock condition surveys to identify defects and future investment requirements.
  • Applying professional and technical knowledge to ensure a high quality, value for money service to all EHA customers and stakeholders.
  • Contributing fully and effectively to the resolution of residents’ concerns, complaints and enquiries to ensure effective communication, resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring and mitigating financial, Health and safety, audit recommendations, and other risks.
  • Undertaking post inspections of completed works to ensure quality, compliance with the Schedule of Rates, value for money and statutory compliance.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Proven building surveying competence and experience with a good level of construction technology and contract administration knowledge.
  • Ability to understand, communicate and implement technical solutions to building problems.
  • Demonstrable experience and skills managing customer relationships to ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and experience of Housing Management/Repairs database.
  • HNC or above in Building Studies or equivalent industry experience. Full UK driving licence and use of vehicle.
