Job Purpose

Our Business Analysts work across the IBO, providing support for projects and change initiatives, helping the business to:

  • Understand current state/baseline – encouraging clear, efficient, standard, documented and repeatable business processes​
  • Facilitate thinking, workshops, questioning and informed decision making​
  • Complete analysis and provide evidence based recommendations​
  • Link with and have relationships with all areas of the organisation
  • Seek opportunities to improve, increase efficiency, reduce waste​​
  • Define goals, scope and requirements

Key Accountabilities

The role will be key to understanding and documenting the capabilities needed to address business challenges within the organisation, specifically:

  • Gathering and analysis of facts, figures and business artefacts
  • Requirements definition and management
  • Facilitating meetings and workshops
  • Stakeholder analysis and management
  • Leading and co-ordinating impact assessments
  • Production of reports, proposals/recommendations, options analysis, requirements documents and presentations
  • Working closely with and supporting Product Owners, including creation of user stories and backlog management
  • Support of UAT activities, including preparations, planning, supporting Product Owners, ensuring “definition of done” can be converted into test scenarios, co-ordination and reporting, to ensure that deliverables are meeting stakeholder expectations and offer a good user experience
  • Collaboration and joint working with vendors
  • Process mapping and rework
  • Assisting with adoption planning activities, including communication/training plans
  • Work with stakeholders to evaluative solution options against business requirements and jointly identify and plan the delivery of identified business benefits
  • Production of, or support for, a variety of project lifecycle related documentation, including idea papers, business case, cost/benefit/ROI analysis and recommendations
  • Involvement in vendor/product selection activities
  • Creating recommendations based on analysis
  • Leading small to medium improvement initiatives, and/or the early stages of a potential project

Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience working on projects of varying scale as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • Experience of the full requirements management lifecycle under a variety of frameworks (Agile/Waterfall)
  • Experience of using delivery team collaboration tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps (TFS)
  • End to end experience of software development lifecycles – including in an agile framework
  • Able to understand how specific systems sit within the full solution/end to end data journey and highlight potential conflicts and impacts
  • Comfortable/able to analyse, interpret and work with large/complex data sets
  • Able to facilitate discussions with business stakeholders to understand how data is used and required operational and historical/retention purposes
  • Full proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Visio, strong Excel data analysis skills
  • Flexible approach to working within a global team regardless of location
  • Able to work independently and without supervision (they may be the only representative of the Project Management Office in a Global Centre)

Desirable:

  • Completed BCS Diploma or IIBA Core Business Analysis certification (CCBA minimum)
  • Project management certification is a plus
  • Experience or certification in Prosci™ Change Management/ADKAR
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (any belt)
  • Experience of process mapping in BPMN
  • Able to demonstrate a working understanding of data mapping and ETL
  • Experiance of API specifications and mapping documents
  • Experience of working with external vendor(s)
  • Knowledge/experience working with
  • Salesforce
  • Oracle cloud services
  • Power BI
  • Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumnus is a plus.
