An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst, as a member of the Retail and Supply IT Development team within Boots IT. Reporting to a Lead Business Analyst, you will be responsible for working with members of the Retail and Supply Chain functions to jointly define with them the high-level scope, objectives and requirements for some major upcoming projects in those areas.

About the role
As a BA within Boots IT and Advanced Analytics, you will have these specific responsibilities:
- Building enduring relationships with the business areas, favouring strong collaborative interactions over processes and documentation
- Facilitating the analysis and user story creation for projects and programmes
- Ensuring that user stories are sized to an appropriate level of detail, with all acceptance tests agreed
- For larger projects and programmes, staying involved with the project right through to delivery and implementation, Ensuring that the user acceptance phase fully tests that the solution meets the requirements
- Bringing a BA approach/methodology to wider departmental initiatives and ad hoc investigations
What you’ll need to have
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- A natural curiosity that drives them to really want to understand the business process to which the solution is to be applied
- An ability to get to the real nub of the issue, beyond how the problem is first described
- That they are comfortable to challenge the perceived wisdom and request evidence (facts and data) to support what they are being told
- A track record of bringing clarity of thought to complex and potentially initially vague situations
- Good relationship-building skills
- Evidence of over five years of experience of using industry best practise BA tools and techniques
- A good all-round appreciation of how IT is leveraged in successful UK Retail companies
It would be great if you also have
- Experience in leading the pre delivery requirements stage of a project that is subsequently delivered by a third party software house
Hybrid Working – 3 days in office, 2 days from home
We currently operate a fixed hybrid working approach for Support Office team members with a mix of remote and office-based working. Our set office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with team members able to work remotely if they wish on Mondays and Fridays.
