Job description: The RoleLocated with the Councils friendly Policy and Performance team, the role will provide business analysis, demand analysis and process improvement skills to assist in the delivery of the Council’s Fit for the Future programme. The objective of the programme is to improve business processes to provide a modern and efficient service, whilst addressing the Council’s budget gap. The transformation and service change that this role will assist in delivering is essential to the success of this programme.Duties include:
- To facilitate individual / cross service reviews working with senior managers and colleagues as appropriate to review, measure, refine, prototype re-design and iterate service delivery so that new models of operation can be delivered that transform services to customers and become sustainable.
- Work alongside teams to embed new approaches to service delivery whilst developing evidence-based measures and dashboards that show how the service is performing.
- Identify risks, constraints, benefits and costs of introducing new or updating current business processes. Preparing business cases as required.
- In conjunction with ICT and services, identify potential platform solutions, compare and contrast their relevant strengths and weaknesses.
- Engage effectively with management consultants, external suppliers, Leadership Team, senior officers and elected Members in order to deliver key projects that are evidenced based and linked to Return on Investment.
This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, working Monday to Friday. Part-time / different working patterns will of course be considered. The base for this post is Lancaster Town Hall, with travel to other council sites within the district necessary, but we offer hybrid working meaning you can also work remotely in line with the needs of the business.The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.Occasional out of hours working in line with the needs of the service may be required. - Lean systems methodology
- Influencing and networking
- Analysing and presenting data to colleagues of all levels
