Business Analyst – Peterborough (Hybrid, UK)

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our existing cross-functional Agile development team who are working to build a new cloud native platform from the ground up.

Day-to-day, the Business Analyst will work across the business, and alongside the Product Management team, bringing expert input and clarity to the on-going development of the platform. The Business Analyst builds relationships with all key stakeholders, and other relevant internal and external parties, working directly with customers where appropriate.

In support of the Product Management team, the Business Analyst will take high-level features and requirements and use a variety of methods to determine further detailed requirements, removing ambiguity of design, and making recommendations to the product management team regarding implementation and priorities. It is expected that the Business Analyst will interact closely with the UX team to ensure mock-ups are established that express the required design in a consistent and simple manner. The Business Analyst will interact with a content developer to ensure that all help and training materials are accurately prepared.

Working with the Development team, the Business Analyst will drill down into the detailed requirements to ensure they are well formed and are clearly understood by all. The Business Analyst will take the role of product owner within the Agile development team. They will create and manage the backlog, including epics and user stories. The Business Analyst will support the team to plan delivery on a quarterly basis.

The Business Analyst will understand the impact of designs and changes to operational/business processes and documentation, identify and mitigate project and organisational risks.

Skills, experience, and attributes

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders, product managers and developers to identify and understand product requirements (may include customers).
  • Writes business and customer requirements, including scope, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Produces specification documents, including customer profiles, detailed user stories (or design

specifications) and detailed product changes based on prioritized requirements.

  • Performs business process analysis for road map features including workflow, feature set and differentiating value.
  • Answers questions from development team about features and requirements, collaborates with the Product Management team as required.
  • Performs demonstrations of sprint reviews.
  • Working closely with Agile development teams.

Qualification

  • 3 – 5-year years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge.
