About the role

The University of Sussex is at the start of it’s exciting Digital HR Transformation Programme to help fulfil our ambition of becoming an employer of choice and to enable staff to flourish whilst working here. The programme will transform our HR systems, processes, and practices with a focus on improving automation, accessibility, and self-service. This programme will play a key part in delivering the strategic and operational goals of the University outlined in the People Strategy and Sussex 2025 and we are looking to recruit two Business Analyst to be key members of this programme team.

As a Business Analyst on this transformative programme, you will be working on pre and post project stage work including the preparation of business cases, requirements specifications, user stories and estimates.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills, having the capability to convey complex, technical information to all levels of staff. You will have experience in applying business analysis disciplines as well as the ability to manage time critical schedules combined with an excellent attention to detail. Ideally, you will also have an understanding of the higher education sector and knowledge of IT systems and processes that support the student lifecycle and beyond.

Proven experience working within HR environments and working with HR systems implementation and administration, process improvement/management and project management with an understanding of transactional HR processes will be a major bonus.

Led by our Chief Digital Transformation Officer and his Leadership team, we are now embarking on an ambitious programme of change. Over the coming years, this digital transition will be an ever-developing programme supported by senior stakeholders both financially and strategically. This University will be a very different world in years to come and aspires to achieve levels of performance and digital delivery yet unseen in the sector. All of this is underpinned by major construction and estate renewal, an exciting programme of work to add thousands of accommodation spaces, and a network replacement project to install the latest digital infrastructure as part of the journey towards a fully data-enabled organisation.
