Here at Serco, we are looking for an FM Business Analyst to join the Data & Insights and Business Analysis team. Reporting to the Head of Analytics & Insight (UK&E), you will be supporting operational teams and the FM program team to develop the facilities management system to ensure that the technical solution meets the requirements of the business. This will involve documenting the business processes, data flows and reporting requirements to enable the successful implementation of MRI Evolution across the UK&E business.
FM forms a large part of our business and therefore this is a high-profile area with a significant degree of exposure. The environment is fast-paced and target-driven and it’s imperative that this individual has had experience of working in a similar capacity.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Work with stakeholders across FM to define the requirements for reporting and analytics and to ensure that the data models that are built and delivered meet the expectations of the business.
- Establish and streamline processes to support the maintenance and optimization of facilities.
- Ensure that asset data is accurately and consistently maintained, document processes that demonstrate how the data and platform should be used to ensure that platform is optimised and meets business needs.
- Document high-level and low-level business requirements to support the FM programme and the individual projects that make up the programme of work.
- Provide BA support for the mobilisation of contracts across all sectors that require an FM capability.
- Elicit, validate, prioritize, and document business and technical requirements to meet business needs.
- Work closely with stakeholders from within the business and demonstrate how IT can help support their plans and to challenge business processes.
- Collaborate with technical architects to understand technology limitations and recommend development options to meet business needs.
- Model and map business processes and assist with the development of solutions to address business problems and improve business processes.
- Work with internal development teams to oversee the implementation of new technology and systems.
- Produce detailed User Stories that offer a description of the situation, identify the scenario, document the business requirements, and specify the necessary acceptance criteria.
- Produce all relevant further documentation and information which is in line with business requirements (BRDs, Traceability Matrix etc.).
What you’ll need to do the role:
- A recognised qualification in Business Analytics, preferably certified through the BCS.
- A degree in an Engineering discipline with at least 5+ years’ experience working in an FM/Asset Management capacity is required.
- Confident working with complex data and systems, with experience of MRI Evolution.
- Technical knowledge and exposure such as APIs, SQL ERP systems.
- A solid background in business process application design, technical requirements, functional and technical specifications.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage with an audience and influence thought process.
- Experience and ability to use processes, tools and techniques associated with business process re-engineering to identify service improvement and new solutions for service delivery.
- Excellent ICT skills including use of key Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Excel.
