We are looking for a Business Analyst (15-18 Month Contract) for the South West to join our team in Bristol & Portbury. As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for providing financial stewardship for the Portbury and Thornbury depots. You will act professionally, objectively and independently in order to provide business management with a clear view of financial performance.
Acting across both the M&S Foods and Temperature Controlled Logistics business activities this role offers the unique perspective of working with M&S Foods and our Primary Accounts.

Role details:
Salary: Cica £40,000 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours Per Week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Bristol (BS35 3UT) & Portbury (BS20 7XR)
What you’ll do:
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Business partner to GMs, providing financial support
- Support site management teams with high quality analysis and insight
- Stewardship for South West business performance (Foods and TCL)
- Support the business cost transformation objective
- Support the financial and commercial interface with the customer
- Ensure the accounts adhere to internal control procedures to safeguard the organisations assets and minimise risk
- Provide leadership at sites for accounts payable and receivable activities
- Undertake weekly forecasting with the operational teams and complete submissions
- Manage the weekly reporting processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Hold weekly reviews and provide commentary to the site teams
- Complete monthly management accounts, taking ownership of balance sheet for business area
- Support annual budget processes and subsequent reforecasts
- Work with central finance teams to ensure accuracy of reporting
Who you are:
Your skills and experience will include:
- 1 years + PQE in financial management (CIMA or ACCA) or AAT or qualified by experience
- Good understanding of the business and the market in which it operates
- Relationship building and influencing skills at a site management level
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to share detailed analysis with non-finance operational leads
- Customer interface and commercial management
- Confident communicator with strong presentation skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Displays drive and tenacity in implementing the Finance agenda
- Operates ethically with integrity
- Display behaviours consistent with Gist values
