Job description: Business Development Manager – Government

Employment type: Full-time Permanent

Job location: Cambridge UK (Hybrid) or Remote within the UK

Do you have sales/business development experience working with Government organisations and are you looking to join a growing, dynamic team? We might have just the role for you…

We are looking for someone to join our team who is energetic, and who thrives off the idea of growing an already established sector even more. We are world leaders in Geospatial Data Solutions, and with a strong focus on our client’s needs, we have big growth plans. To achieve this, we need to add an experienced business development manager to our team.

1Spatial is proud to hire exceptional people who are passionate about making a difference. One of the main ways we make a difference, is by helping our customers solve some of the world’s most complex geospatial challenges. Our work helps our customers to deliver functions that are critical to UK society – resilient critical national infrastructure, democratic processes, safe and timely emergency response, access to heat, water and electricity, safe and reliable transportation and much more.

We achieve this by delivering complex solutions that usually have a mix of software and services. The average sales cycle is between 9-12 months and involves engaging multiple stakeholders.

Having a can-do attitude and being self-motivated are key to this role. Our company HQ is in Cambridge, but location isn’t important, this role will involve being out visiting clients and prospects, so you need to be willing to travel and sometimes change plans at short notice.

Are you client focused? Do you thrive on reaching targets? Can you cross sell multiple solutions? If that sounds like you, then get in touch.

Would you be a good fit for the 1Spatial commercial team?

This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in 1Spatial’s growth strategy. You will have the opportunity to influence this strategy by exploring new accounts and sectors, whilst also developing existing accounts. To deliver the best service to our customers, we’re looking for someone with a proven track record of managing accounts in the UK Government Sector, knowledge of the UK market, its trends and challenges.

You will be responsible for:

· Achieving new business revenue targets through software, services and solution sales.

· Taking responsibility for creating and managing a pipeline of new business opportunities (from a mix of existing and new accounts).

· Building strong and enduring relationships with key stakeholders within new and existing accounts.

· Writing competitive commercial bids, delivering customer proposals and presentations.

· Own, manage and deliver on account plans for Key and Target Accounts.

· Contribute to the evolving Sector Strategy for Government and deliver on actions.

· Provide market insight to other parts of the 1Spatial business.
