Job description: As a long-standing FCA regulated Foreign Exchange (FX) service provider with over 15 years of supporting clients, we have recently had a significant investment from two previous directors of an FX firm valued at over £800 million. Following the change in management, the business is undergoing a period of rapid growth with a focus on hiring top talent across all departments.

We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for analysing complex data sets and providing actionable insights to drive business decisions and improve performance at VFX Financial.

As the Business Intelligence Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders across different departments to understand their needs and translate them into effective data-driven solutions. You will use a variety of BI tools and techniques to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets, and present your findings in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritise business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain PowerBI reports, dashboards, and data visualisations to support business insights and decision making.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the organisation.
  • Designing and developing complex spreadsheets and reports.
  • Automating reports where possible and creating dashboards that can be interrogated by different stakeholders to meet their needs.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency throughout the organisation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Excel – including complex formulae.
  • Proficient in SQL and experience working with databases.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and analysis findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial services or the foreign exchange industry is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Intermediate VBA skills is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • 1 to 3 years relevant work experience in a data or analyst role is a plus.

Expected salary: £35000 – 40000 per year
