The Role:
As a Business Procurement Manager, your role will be to independently implement and execute procurement strategy for the UK&IRL region, translating business needs to categories and implementing category initiatives in your region while representing the Central European Procurement Team. Collaborating with a strategic/tactical and stakeholder group and reporting to the Director – Business Procurement – BeNeLux & UK/IRL.
How you will contribute:
- Business partner with your stakeholder group on a tactical and operational level and identifying their business needs by acting as their partner on procurement topics.
- Independently implement and execute procurement strategy within the strategy of the procurement leadership team.
- Participate and lead cross functional local teams as appropriate, provide a comprehensive review of: categories, supply base, cost drivers, market trends, supplier rationalization plans, supply positioning, sourcing strategies, and strategic actions.
- Maintain timely and accurate knowledge of all categories and procurement landscape and maintain accurate up-to-date cost records and analysis of trends.
- Manage supplier relationships on a tactical and operational level for the UK&IRL region. Manage the contracts on a tactical and Operational level for the UK&IRL region.
- Identify business needs and collaborate with the Central European Procurement Team to initiate, draft and implement improvements, innovation and solutions for your (internal) customers.
- Generate and maintain accurate records according to established procedures for quotes, cost estimates, items, tooling, purchase orders, supplier performance, and commodity spend analysis, etc.
- Create and implement annual cost reduction strategies, including but not limited to: negotiate pricing ensuring the lowest price up-front, source new business per the approved commodity strategy, implement packaging and logistics improvements, etc.
- Make periodic visits to suppliers, perform risk assessments, onsite surveys, periodic supplier performance reviews, supplier development plans. Maintain, re-evaluate, and develop robust risk management systems to promote appropriate competition and ensure suppliers continuity.
What you will bring:
- 5 years of relevant experience in procurement with expert knowledge of the procurement landscape.
- Experience of the logistics / haulage / warehousing industry.Good understanding of purchasing applications (Oracle, SAP etc.)
- Certified or actively seeking certification in CIPS/NEVI or equivalent – Desirable not essential.
- Proven experience to implement and execute procurement strategy.
- Experienced in dealing with complex stakeholders-groups on a strategic level.
- Proven experience in challenging, collaborating, influencing and convincing (strategic) stakeholders.
- Proven experience in cross-functional teams that include internal and external customers, and suppliers.
- Experience of negotiating complex deals in the market place and dealing with a wide range of suppliers and delivering lowest total cost of ownership solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Note: The role will cover 11 locations across the UK & IRL, therefore a full UK driving license will be required. Ability to travel within Europe for wider team meetings is essential.
