Job title: CAD Tech/Industrial Designer

Job description: Our client based in Thatcham is looking for a Junior CAD Industrial Designer to join their team. This is an office based, full-time permanent role.

The right candidate will come from a design and manufacturing background.

Salary:

  • £26,000 – £30,000 per annum

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Essential Skills:

  • Direct and recent experience in volume production of assembly and individual part drawings for manufacture
  • 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
  • 2D CAD (AutoCAD or similar)
  • Creation of BOMs for production department
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and work independently under their own initiative, prioritising workload
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with the design team and production and sales departments.

Beneficial Skills:
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to create 3D visuals of products (Blender)
  • Experience of using PDM systems
  • Previous experience of designing products and components from scratch
  • Use of Adobe applications would be an advantage.

Experience:

At least 2 years previous professional experience of working in a similar role that may include:

  • A background in design/manufacturing and production
  • Drawing/Design office experience

Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving license
  • University Degree in Industrial Design/Product Design/Engineering, or Design/Engineering Education with professional experience
