Pay: £435/day
We are seeking a skilled Capital/Leasing Accountant to join a local authority team on a 6-month contract basis, focusing on the implementation of IFRS16 Leases. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial compliance and transparency of a local authority in Somerset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt existing Lease Register to ensure compliance with IFRS16 requirements.
- Assist Chief Accountant with first-time adoption disclosure requirements for the statutory 23/24 accounts.
- Support budget realignment necessary for lease rental payments.
- Communicate effectively with finance and non-finance colleagues to facilitate smooth transition.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in lease accounting.
- Familiarity with IFRS16 requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently within a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Previous experience in Local Government finance is preferred but not essential.
