Job Description

Role: Cargo Inspector- Agricultural

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £28,000-£32,000

Location: Southampton, South Coast

The role of Cargo Inspector

As an Agriculture Inspector, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the quality and safety of agricultural products.

The role of Cargo Inspector is to deliver cargo Inspection /testing and sampling services within the Agricultural commodity market.

Key Accountabilities:-

  • To perform, record, and report weighing of Agricultural commodities and Biomass.
  • To obtain representative samples as per client-specific instruction or by industry best practice to ensure product integrity and quality of analysis.
  • To provide complete and accurate operational reports to local coordination offices and maintain all raw inspection data.
  • Identify and initiate improvements to current inspection operations to maximise personnel utilisation, equipment availability and adherence to technical standards.

Due to the nature of the business, the role of Inspector will require flexibility with hours of work to fit with shipping/tide times. We operate an annual hour’s working pattern, and you will receive 32 days’ annual leave to start which increases with service.

Qualifications

What we look for in our Inspectors?

We require our Inspectors to have the following skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Previous experience in agriculture inspection or a related role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for data recording and reporting.
