Job Description

DN Colleges Group are recruiting a Catering Assistant to work part time, based at Doncaster College.

As part of the catering team, the role involves preparing food, snacks, and drinks while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen and eating areas. Ensuring excellent customer service, being visible during service periods, and possessing a good knowledge of food items are essential.

Additionally, the position requires flexibility in working hours, collaboration within the Estates and Facilities Department, and proactive participation in training and development to uphold the College’s mission statement and contribute to departmental reports.

The incumbent is expected to report customer requests promptly, work positively within the team, and support students on placement. Overall, the role involves multifaceted responsibilities, from meeting customer expectations to contributing to the department’s effective delivery, guided by the Catering Manager and Head of Facilities and Contracts Management.

Working hours (22.5) are on a two week rotation, working term time only which is 36 weeks per calendar year. 

Week 1 – 8:30am – 1:30pm Monday – Friday

Week 2 – 10:30am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday

As part of the recruitment process and in-line with keeping children safe in education we will conduct social media checks on candidates that are shortlisted.

Lets Teach Programme  
Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.  

Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
