About the Job

The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) at OBC, reporting to the Executive Principal, holds a pivotal role in realising the college’s strategic vision. Based in the Oxford Head Office, the CAO is responsible for implementing strategic plans, emphasising financial planning, and collaborating with campus leaders. Key duties include managing campus deans, program leaders, and student services head, prioritising student development, and championing inclusive and innovative education. The CAO promotes excellence in teaching, monitors areas for improvement, and ensures a welcoming environment with effective learning. Additionally, the CAO oversees higher education programs, plans for audits/ inspections, and plays a key role in staff development and policy implementation. 

About You

The ideal candidate for the CAO position should possess an essential PhD or Doctorate, along with an Advance HE fellowship. They must demonstrate extensive experience in higher education administration, leadership, and a proven track record in achieving high statistical and NSS results. Desirable qualifications include membership in professional bodies, proficiency in emerging technologies, and experience in a similar role at a private higher education institution. The candidate should exhibit strong leadership skills, strategic planning capabilities, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to student-centred education. Behavioural attributes include strong ethical standards, adaptability, resilience, and alignment with the college’s core values.
