Job description: The Government of Jersey is lively, focused and dynamic, eager to realise its ambitions for the Island’s future. As a Crown Dependency with a historic relationship established over 800 years ago, we are a part of the British Isles, but not the United Kingdom. As Chief Executive, you will join us at an exciting time, and be at the forefront of our ambitious agenda, providing both leadership and direction to a broad range of public services. You’ll ensure our plans are realised and deliver tangible benefits to the residents and communities in the Island we serve. We are seeking an exceptional individual, capable of providing effective leadership to a complex, multi-faceted organisation delivering a broad range of effective and efficient services to the public, in a fast-moving political environment. Your values will align with the best of public service ethos and you will bring a commercial and collaborative approach to driving performance improvement across Government.

Jersey combines a lively and cosmopolitan main town, which is home to thriving global finance and professional services sectors, with sweeping, unspoilt beaches, fishing ports and fantastic rolling countryside. Just 14 miles off the north-west coast of France and 85 miles south of the English coast it is well served by air to a range of UK and international cities.

You will need to ensure that the strategic vision is reflected in the structure and operation of an efficient and forward-looking public service, engaging with stakeholders, on Island and beyond, to ensure Jersey remains in a strong position internationally, and that domestically, our economy and community continues to thrive.
