Job description: Spencer Clarke Group are now working alongside a dynamic and forward-thinking business, specialising in providing comprehensive financial services to a diverse range of clients with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences and strategic financial solutions.This client is committed to providing world-class service in every aspect of their work.My excellent client is currently recruiting for a Client Accounting Lead to join their fast paced environment and team, who are based on the outskirts of Chester.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Client Accounting Lead to join our team.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Company Accounts, Self-assessments, VAT, confirmation statements, and financial reviews.In addition, you must be passionate about client interaction and provide a world-class level of service.As a Client Accounting Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of client financial processes while providing strategic insights and guidance.Responsibilities:Company Accounts:Lead the preparation and review of year-end accounts for clients, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation for the year-end accounts. Provide analysis and insights into clients’ financial performance based on the year-end accounts.Self-Assessments:Manage the process of preparing and filing self-assessment tax returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and optimizing their tax positions.Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to clients.VAT Management:Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Provide guidance and support to clients on VAT-related queries and issues. Stay updated on changes in VAT legislation and implement necessary adjustments to clients’ processes.Confirmation Statements:Oversee the timely preparation and submission of confirmation statements for clients. Ensure that all required information is accurately reflected in the confirmation statements and filed with Companies House. Address any discrepancies or issues related to confirmation statements proactively.Financial Reviews:Conduct comprehensive financial reviews for clients, analysing their financial statements, performance metrics, and key indicators. Identify areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization in clients’ financial processes and practices. Provide strategic recommendations and actionable insights to clients based on financial review findings.Requirements:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- Proven experience in VAT management, year-end accounts preparation, self-assessment tax returns, confirmation statements, and financial reviews.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality client service and driving continuous improvement.
