Applications are invited for a Clinical Academic Programmes Manager to work in the Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training Section in the School of Clinical Medicine.
The successful applicant will work with the Director of Clinical Academic Training and the Head of the Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training Section to oversee a number of clinical academic training programmes administered by the School. Clinical academic training enables doctors to continue their medical training in a broad range of specialties, whilst simultaneously pursuing high level research alongside outstanding clinical and non-clinical researchers. These strategically important, cross-organisational programmes, prepare trainee doctors for a career combining excellent clinical practice, with world-leading research.
This varied role works with the Director and Deputy Directors of Clinical Academic Training to manage the administration and smooth operation of the Specialist Foundation, Academic Clinical Fellowship, and Clinical Lecturer training programmes. The role holder also acts as the key point of contact for external bodies such as Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and NHS England, East of England, representing the School and the University in discussions regarding these programmes. The role manages a small team of administrative staff and works within, and has support from, the larger Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training Section.
The successful applicant will have excellent operational and staff management abilities, and experience of managing multiple stakeholder relationships. The successful applicant should be familiar with modern office information and communication technologies and be educated to degree level or equivalent. Experience within higher education and/or NHS environments would be helpful although full training will be given on the specialist aspects of the role.

The role is full-time although applications for flexible working will be considered. Although working in a hybrid fashion for the foreseeable future, the successful candidate will be expected to have a visible presence in the Postgraduate Education and Clinical Academic Training Section in the School of Clinical Medicine if required.
