Clinical Dental Nurse Tutor at University of Bristol
Job Description
The role
This is an exciting time to join the Bristol Dental School as we have settled into our city centre state of the art site delivering a new operational model since September 2024.
Applications are welcomed for a highly motivated, initiative-taking and enthusiastic clinical dental nurse tutor. The tutor will support the implementation, development and delivery of the 18 month trainee dental nurse programme and the requirements of the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses as approved by the General Dental Council.
The successful candidate will have a role in all aspects of teaching of the trainee dental nurses and great emphasis will be in providing high quality supervision of the trainee dental nurses on their departmental clinical placement assisting the dental students. You will provide high quality and comprehensive clinical and theoretical teaching , learning assessment and provide guidance, encouragement and support to the trainee dental nurse with their portfolio completion.
What will you be doing?
You will deliver teaching to the trainee dental nurses within their scope of practice, including organising clinical rotation to the clinical areas and classroom based and planning classroom based teaching sessions.
Plan your own activity and contribute to teaching and clinical related administration course planning, setting and delivery formative and summative internal assessments in preparation for qualification.
Provide pastoral care for the trainee dental nurses and encourage mentors for the nurses from within the wider dental team.
You should apply if
You have significant dental nurses knowledge working chairside within multiple dental specialities and can demonstrate clinical competence and experience in assisting with of a full range of dental procedures.
Your experience should encompass teaching in various ways, and you should be able to communicate clearly when teaching material in the classroom or clinically of a specialist or technical nature.
