Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Rheumatology team at KCH to cover for 6- 12 months maternity leave, commencing December 2024.For this post we require your enthusiasm, motivation and passion to help deliver a patient focused service, to contribute to the visions and values of our specialty and the Trust.The band 6 post will include a training package and we would welcome applicants who have a minimum of 3 years experience preferably in chronic or auto immune disease, with a background of excellent one to one communication with patients.Thank you for your interest in this post, candidates are encouraged to arrange an informal visit or telephone for any questions that they may have relating to this post.Main duties of the jobWorking autonomously whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, assessing and managing a caseload of patients within the Rheumatology department. Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.To review patients routinely, assessing disease activity, reviewing medication management, monitoring test results and administration of treatments.Education, counselling and support of patients, carers, relatives.To act as a role model of expert clinical practice.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with fivehospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
