Summary of the role
The primary function of this role is to provide technical support for the teaching activities of the College and Medicine and Health within the Clinical Skills Resource Centre (CSRC) and simulated nursing ward at the Heavitree hospital site. The role holder will work closely with Clinical Skills teaching staff, Technicians and the Technical Manager to deliver hands-on support for the practical skills-based learning of undergraduate students within the simulated nursing ward and CSRC. The post is full-time (1 FTE, 36.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri on a rota basis). The role holder will work in conjunction with teaching staff and other members of Technical Services in delivering a safe and efficient working environment for teaching of undergraduate students.
We provide full specialist training and, for the right candidate an opportunity for further training or working towards a Professional Registration.
We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication and time management skills, who will provide professional technical support to staff and postgraduate students in an education environment consisting of a simulated Hospital setting. You must be able to work independently, using your initiative to tackle any problems, whilst having the confidence to work collaboratively with technical staff in the Clinical Skills Resource Centre plus other teams within the Medical School and across the University.
This role requires movement of some larger pieces of medical equipment meaning a good use of manual handling. Training and support will be provided.
The CSRC Technical team work on a flexible rota system between 8am – 7pm.

This role is within the Technical Services part of the Division. We are research and teaching technical staff across the entirety of the University of Exeter.
