Overview of position

  • This role will involve researching, developing local, national and global corporate business for the hotels
  • Position 2 hotels in the London market and write a commercial strategy to achieve budget
  • The role will be largely field based and will cover the London market as well as national & international markets.
  • Source and win new business and actively sell the image and services of the hotel.
  • Maintain existing accounts and generate new business and accounts as per targets agreed.
  • Conduct an agreed amount of sales calls and site inspections to maintain and develop new business.
  • Prepare and execute specific quarterly sales activity plans.
  • Maintain up to date client databases and the CRM system.

Key Duties & Objectives

  • To ensure effective management of key corporate accounts and to recognise and capitalise on all opportunities from these existing accounts and maintain them to their optimum level.
  • To constantly recognise and develop new accounts from the local corporate markets.
  • To participate fully in all sales activities including telesales, sales calls, corporate entertaining, social events and overseas sales trips as necessary. A weekly target of tele-calls and face-to-face meetings to be completed.
  • Identification and management of all corporate and consortia RFPs with volume for the area, ensuring maximum inclusion for the hotel.
  • Analyse monthly intelligence reports and hotel GDS production reports and develop business from same with the Director of Sales.
  • Arrange regular corporate entertainment to develop relationships with key corporate accounts.
  • Undertake monthly corporate tracking of key accounts to monitor production and more importantly to identify any decreases and taking necessary action to remedy same.
  • All sales activity & the results achieved should be reported to General Managers on a weekly basis.
  • To ensure the accurate processing, distribution, recording/filing and follow up of all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations, confirmations, cancellations etc.
  • Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis, monitoring their performance, rates and sales activity.
  • The candidate should be pro-active and energetic with a proven track record in achieving sales targets and the ability to execute effectively a focussed sales plan for the agreed market segments.
  • Pre-opening project planning for Newbuilds
  • Write quarterly activity plans to create focus for the hotel team and adapt activity to support business needs
  • Management of annual marketing budget in conjunction with the DOSM
  • In conjunction with the hotel teams manage online marketing & brand website through content development and continually driving customers direct to this sale channel
  • Manage hotel advertising & promotional campaigns in conjunction with the DOSM
  • Promote & position the brand within the London market

Desirable skills

  • Minimum 1-year previous London market experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills, negotiation skills and excellent presentation skills.

Expected salary: £35000 – 45000 per year
