Job title: CNC Wood Machinist

Job description: Recra are working in partnership with a High End Bespoke manufacturer based in Coventry, they are looking to recruit a CNC operative to join their vibrant team.

The ideal candidate would be multi-skilled to use all CNC machines and the edgebander will report to the Production Supervisor.

There are currently three CNC machines, you will be responsible for operating the various CNC machines within our clients sites.

Role Overview:

  • Responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to specific required CNC Program.
  • Strictly adhere to producing panels with consistent results that is accurate and following quality procedures.
  • Be able to correctly read CAD drawings.
  • Use measuring equipment to measure dimensions if required.
  • Updating manager on items completed, updating stock control system where required and production control information, on paper and on the manufacturing computer system.
  • Identify and highlight to supervision process faults, errors and non-conformities.
  • Undertake assembly, packing, cleaning and all machining and operating duties in the plant as the need arises.
  • Understanding the risks, control measures and safety devices for the equipment operated and surrounding areas.
  • Maintaining consistent satisfactory levels of housekeeping within the factory.
  • Conforming with all safety standards and use of appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Generate, agree and implement new initiatives that result in continuous improvements.
  • Help to train and mentor colleagues and to undertake training activities as directed by line management.
  • Perform simple machine cleaning and maintenance duties.

Edgebander

You will be responsible for:

  • Operating the Edge Banding machine to place the edging along doors, worktops, tables and other similar products.
  • Allocating Edge Banding stock to each project.
  • Palletize all edged panels following standard processes.
  • Maintain the machine according to manufacturer recommendation.
  • Daily upkeep of workplace and equipment.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures.
  • Maintain all required records.
  • Participate in monthly and cycle stock counts as required.
  • Maintaining consistent satisfactory levels of housekeeping within the factory.
  • Strict adherence to quality procedures This list is not exhaustive of all tasks and you will be required to assist with other tasks within the operations department.

Key Role Requirements:

  • Ideally have prior experience of using CNC machines/Edgebander.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of operating wood or panel processing machines.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings.
  • A qualification in Wood Machining / CNC.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and cope under pressure.

Hours of work:

  • Hours 7am to 4pm Mon-Thurs with 15 mins am break + 30 min.
  • Hours 7am to 2.45pm Fri with 15 mins am break + 30 mins lunch.
  • Overtime available and paid at a premium.

Expected salary: £12 – 14 per hour
