Manchester Airport Group (MAG) are in the process of shortlisting for a Commercial Lawyer for an interim period, to support with their exciting and ambitious on-going projects.
As a Commercial Lawyer specialising in the Construction industry, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting the successful execution of their projects. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of legal expertise, a deep understanding of construction law, and a passion for contributing to the growth and success of the MAG Group.
Responsibilities: * Provide legal advice on a broad range of commercial matters related to construction projects across multiple sites (Manchester, East Midlands, and Stansted)
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including construction agreements, subcontracts, and vendor contracts.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with construction projects.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations, legislative changes, and legal trends affecting the construction sector.
- Assist in dispute resolution, including claims management and litigation support.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and procurement teams, to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Commercial Lawyer, with a focus on the construction industry. Large scale projects would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract law, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
The role is a hybrid role (ideally 3v2 basis) and will be paid as a daily rate. Following an assessment, the role has been determined as outside of IR35.
