School/Department: University of Sussex Business School (Working across several Schools and the Institute of Development Studies)
Hours: Full time considered up to a maximum of 1.0 FTE (36.5 hours per week)

Contract: Fixed term until 31 July 2025

The Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) Centre of Excellence is seeking a highly motivated communications professional to support the delivery of effective communication for the Programme’s projects, events and activities. The postholder will oversee all aspects of our communication channels covering the website, digital and social media providing timely messaging to our internal and external audiences. If you are an excellent communicator with strong digital skills and creative flair, a keen eye for detail, and you are self-driven with a can-do attitude then this will be a fantastic opportunity for you.
This exciting role sits within the University of Sussex Business School and is line-managed by the SSRP Senior Programme Manager. The post-holder will be responsible for overall communications support for the Programme, including day-to-day comms tasks as well as more strategic, long-term comms planning. The role is also responsible for supporting the Programme’s vital impact and engagement work, acting as the primary facilitator of engagement opportunities across the Programme and facilitating the achievement of impact arising out of the Programme’s funded research projects.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the SSRP Senior Programme Manager, and the Research Coordinator and other colleagues as required to help implement the strategic vision of the Programme, and in so doing support the University’s ambition to create a world-leading research programme providing science to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
