Job Summary
The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and amplifying the reputation of the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) with key internal and external stakeholders. The postholder will raise awareness of the NHLI’s world-leading research and education, our researchers and educators. The post-holder will develop and implement the NHLI Communications and Marketing strategy. They will advise internal stakeholders on successful communications strategies and lead on the creation and delivery of key messages through a range of channels and media. They will also liaise with the Education team, the Faculty and College to raise the profile of teaching and research activities and market undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to deliver student recruitment requirements.
They will articulate these strategies to internal audiences and attain buy-in from all stakeholders and effectively manage, plan and execute campaigns.
Duties and responsibilities
- Key responsibilities include managing the Department’s internal and external communications strategies and implementing student recruitment and marketing activities.
- The post holder is responsible for developing and maintaining the Departmental website, newsletter, social media platforms, blogs and news platforms.
- The postholder will engage actively with Faculty and College communication teams to promote the Department.
Essential requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Communications, Media or Marketing, or equivalent experience
- You will be a self-starter with a high level of proficiency in spoken and written communications, excellent interpersonal skills and you will demonstrate initiative and creativity.
- You will have experience in developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies, ideally in a higher education environment.
- You will have extensive knowledge of communications challenges and best practice and be skilled in developing marketing campaigns.
- Familiarity with CMS and CRM systems, social media platforms and analytics tools are essential.
