Communications Officer – Writer & Multimedia Content Creator at Institute for Optimum Nutrition

Job Description

Contract: Part-time, permanent contract (0.8 FTE – 30 hours per week)

Start Date: Mid-August (Negotiable)

We are looking for a qualified journalist (degree or NCTJ) to produce high-quality copy for our public-facing Optimum Nutrition newsletter, and to create engaging content for our digital media streams and marketing activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently-qualified journalist or experienced professional to develop their skills across a range of media outputs. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in health and nutrition, and the ability to switch from writing an in-depth feature to producing a promotional pieces. 

You will come with:

  • Ability to work at pace 
  • A sense of fun with a strong professional ethic and the ability to get things done
  • Ability to create content including in-depth features, interviews and news for our monthly Optimum Nutrition newsletter, as well as for marketing campaigns, website, and social media
  • Ability to accurately proof and sub content on-screen
  • Ability to read/understand research papers, with understanding of research methods
  • Organisational skills
  • Excellent individual and group communication skills
  • Initiative and the ability to work as part of a team and to lead on projects when required
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Dreamweaver, Audition and Premier Pro desirable
