Position

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic, progressive and innovative Primary/Acute Care Learning Disability Liaison Nurse to work within the North Ayrshire Integrated Community Learning Disability Team based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine. The integrated team is multi-disciplinary with a strong inter-agency focus.

The position is offered on a permanent basis.

What you will do:

You will provide clinical and professional leadership, acting as a catalyst for development and implementation of evidence-based practice. Lead, co-ordinate and facilitate high quality person centred specialist health care for people with learning disabilities.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You must have an RNLD qualification and current NMC registration, with experience of working in a community team or similar, and an understanding of supporting clients to access acute and primary care health services.

It is essential that you have good interpersonal skills, with evidence of continuous professional development, and able to demonstrate an understanding of the current policy context affecting the development of person- centred learning disability services, and the role of nursing in a changing clinical environment.

37.5 hours per week
