Salary: £33,000 – £40,000 pa

Hours per week: 35 (flexible working options available)

You’ll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of 2 days per week (one of which will be a Tuesday). The remainder of your working hours will be undertaken from home.

About the role
Our Volunteers are an engaged and dynamic community committed to Occupational Safety and Health, delivering a consistent, effective, and value-added service.

We are recruiting for a Community Manager (Communities Engagement and Volunteer Manager) to develop and shape our strategy and processes around volunteers, and to contribute to the implementation of our future Networks model.

Following a period of review of our Networks and the approval of a vision for their future structure, we are now able to transition our Networks to Communities. A significant part of that transition will involve setting up communities on the new Online Community Platform.

Reporting to the Head of Networks this newly created position is an exciting opportunity to support the development of processes that will need to be put in place for the specific communities.

The role will also be responsible for supporting the delivery of a volunteer strategy and volunteer focussed projects, leading to extended engagement, across the organisation and further improving levels of member satisfaction.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of working with volunteers and member communities. You should have confidence in building positive relationships and growing engagement within a volunteer community.

You must have the ability to problem solve utilising investigation, assessment and evaluation skills and have excellent written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and different audiences.

Experience of implementing a strategy and evaluating its impact with a strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes would be advantageous, as well as the ability to support new ways of working and generate ideas.

Essential criteria

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of community platforms and engagement tools
  • Knowledge of membership or volunteer led organisations

Skills and Experience

  • Building and developing collaborative and productive relationships with staff and volunteers
  • Ability to problem solve utilising investigation, assessment and evaluation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and different audiences.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in community management, particularly on online platforms
  • Experience of working with member volunteers
  • Significant experience of managing multiple projects
  • Leading and managing others
