We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 9am -5pmAn exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Community Mental Health Nurse within Brand Street Community Mental Health Team as a dynamic member of our multidisciplinary team. The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide support to individuals residing in South Glasgow with mental health needs and who require mental health care and treatment at within the community, this may be at home or in clinics.This role will be carried out under the supervision of a Charge Nurse – Community Mental Health Nurse, with whom you will participate in formal line management supervision. You will be required to assist in carrying out ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, whilst liaising with and updating multiple stakeholders – GPs, Community Mental Health Crisis Teams, Mental Health Assessment Unit, Specialist Services and 3rd sector organisations.We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is motivated to have a positive impact on our patient’s lives whilst demonstrating an ability and aptitude to work effectively as both an individual and as part of a team. Being an effective and responsive communicator across multiple stakeholders is essential to the role. Applicants should have significant experience working with people with mental health difficulties and demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. The post holder will be required to operate within the legal and ethical national frameworks, whilst adhering to local, national and organisational policies and guidance relating to professional conduct, practice and contractual obligations. This is a full time (37.5 hrs) permanent post that operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The post requires PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland check. A current driving licence is essential to the post.
