Purpose

Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City’s official charity. We support people across Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of CITC’s Mental Health provision, across all programme areas. The Community Outreach Lead Coach will work with Programme Officers, delivery staff and external partners to ensure participants are supported throughout the programme and is expected to develop and maintain relationships with strategic and delivery partners.

Accountabilities * Lead delivery on Mental Health projects and support delivery across all CITC programmes ensuring that sessions, monitoring, evaluation and safeguarding are of the highest standards.

  • Support participants through mentoring, including planning, implementing and regularly reviewing individual action plans for each vulnerable participant, ensuring they continue to develop through attending the sessions.
  • Work closely with the Project Officer, Safeguarding Manager and Delivery Staff to ensure participant needs are being met when at sessions and that interventions are effective.
  • Support the Project Officer in reporting on set KPIs and outcomes associated with each project to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the NHS, Premier League Charitable Fund and any additional funders.
  • Regularly review individual performance within the team to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery of the programmes.
  • Utilise own profile and community network to create, maintain and develop relationships with internal stakeholders in CITC and the wider City Football Group (CFG), local authorities and governing bodies to develop CITC’s reputation and reach, promoting all CITC programmes across Manchester.
  • Ensuring that CITC’s Safeguarding policy and procedures are embedded to the highest standard across the team. Work to ensure that safeguarding practices and principles are adhered to, ensuring our legal and moral obligations towards the framework.
  • Ensuring that all CITC and CFG policies and procedures are adhered to across the team, escalating any breaches as appropriate

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of delivering community-based sports programmes, specifically around mental health.
  • Solid experience of working in and liaising with schools, community organisations, and facility partners.
  • Knowledge and experience of Youth Work theories and practice.
  • Competent across Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects
  • Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
  • Resilient and adaptable to change.
  • Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities

Desirable

  • Degree level education
  • Coaching Level 2 qualification in one other relevant sport
  • Minimum Level 2 in Youth Work
  • GCSEs in English, Maths and Science
  • Specific knowledge of youth engagement and/or Community Outreach programmes
  • Remote line management
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience of delivering technical training for team members and other professionals
  • Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a
  • Premier League Football Club
  • Experience and knowledge of working with individuals who have a diagnosed mental health condition.
