Job description: Community Safety Partnership Manager Job descriptionAdvert for CSP Manager roleDo you want to make a positive difference to improve the safety and security of residents living in the East Riding, then the following vacancy may be of interest to you.The East Riding Community Safety Partnership (CSP) are looking to appoint a new Community Safety Partnership Manager. The role will be recruited to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council although the scope of the role stretches across the whole partnership offering the postholder variety, creativity and development.The CSP has grown significantly over the past two years and its workstreams cover a variety of strategic community safety themes that have a direct impact on East Riding Communities. The successful candidate will have a good foundational base to pick up from and continue this development.You will have the opportunity to regularly work with Senior Leaders in the Local Authority including Elected Members, Policing including counterterrorism, Fire, Health, Probation, Voluntary and Community Social Enterprise sector (VCSE) and the government departments, to develop strategies, processes, funding plans and projects that make a difference to communities across East Yorkshire.This is a key strategic role within the Council and leads and co-ordinates the following key areas of responsibility for the Council and the partnership:

  • Managing, leading and delivering the Community Safety Partnership Strategy/Policy
  • Management of the partnership business plan which includes budget management and financial returns.
  • Management of a variety of community safety projects with partners.
  • Managing, leading and delivering the Prevent Strategy agenda including Channel Panel.
  • Managing and leading on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) agenda
  • Overseeing the Council’s responsibility for the Serious Violence Duty.
  • Oversight and coordination of Domestic Homicide Reviews
  • Supporting the delivery of the Humber Violence Prevention partnership.

We are looking for a person that may have experience in some or all the above areas, but equally important to us, is about your personal attributes and skills that you can bring to this role and therefore we expect that applicants may come from varying backgrounds.You will be expected to have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Working with a wide range of partners/stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders and politicians both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to building network relationships and to influence these at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to chair and lead meetings effectively.
  • To be confident and to take initiative and the lead within each key area of the role. Ability to manage completing priorities.
  • Manage budgets effectively and obtain value for money.
  • To source additional funding through grants
  • Ability to effectively manage projects from the start through to completion.
  • Able to provide training to other key stakeholders e.g., Prevent Champions
  • Able to write policies and reports and present at either partnership meetings or committees.
  • To be a self-starter and take initiative.
  • To use data and business intelligence to look at new areas of work to improve safety for residents within East Riding.
  • To be able to manage a small team.
  • Able to see and tie in with the Council’s wider corporate objectives.
