Libraries are about books and so much more. We’re offering this brilliant opportunity for you to join us as we continue to innovate.From day one you’ll be working in a customer centred environment, in a busy community hub that serves a diverse range of people, partners and organisations.Please note that you could also be asked to work in any North Somerset library.This is a part-time, permanent role with a set rota. 16 hours per week at Healthy Living Centre (HLC) Library and alternate Saturdays at Worle Library.The hours are worked as follows:Week 1: Monday 9am-1pm, Tuesday 9am-1pm, Thursday 1-5pm, Friday 1-5pmWeek 2: Monday 9am-1pm, Thursday 1-5pm, Friday 1-5pm, Saturday 9am-1pmThis position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.About youWe are looking for well-motivated people to provide a welcoming environment to our customers. You will be hard-working and receptive to change, with a wide general knowledge, an interest in books, and a digital curiosity. You will work in a team, dealing with enquiries and requests, planning and delivering interactive activities, and promoting our services.You will be encouraging the love of reading through a range of promotional activities which will include delivering a weekly Rhymetime or Storytime event to children age 0-5 and their parents / carers; this will involve singing nursery rhymes and songs with enthusiasm.
