Job description: Driver Hire is recruiting for a Part Time Community Transport Driver on behalf of our client who provide a range of services to those with support needs in Surrey and the surrounding areas.

You will be driving their small 9 seater minibus in the afternoons providing transport for people with a range of disabilities and support needs. You will ensure passengers are safely picked up and dropped off at locations and activities within the community … day centres, apprenticeships and colleges. You will be required to help passengers on and off the vehicle when required and have a willingness to be trained in wheelchair safety.

They are looking for a driver to work 5 afternoons per week, Monday to Friday. Expect each shift to last 3.5 to 4 hours each.

The ideal candidate will have previous driving experience, be patient and conscientious.

**** Benefits, Hours and Pay of the Cat B, Community Transport Driver ****

  • £11.50 per hour after a short temp to perm period
  • 5 afternoons per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Expect each shift to last 3.5 – 4 hours

**** Responsibilities of the Cat B, Community Transport Driver ****

  • Driving a small company minibus ensuring all service-users are transported safely
  • Daily walk round vehicle checks
  • Ensure passenger safety, helping passengers on and off the vehicle
  • Operation of all equipment, including steps, seat belts, wheelchair clamps and tail lifts
  • Establish positive and professional relationships with passengers and their carers/parents

**** Requirements of the Cat B, Community Transport Driver ****

  • Full UK licence with Cat B entitlement
  • Verifiable references
  • Max 6 minor penalty points
