Job description: Sefton Council has an exciting opportunity to become involved in a new area of prevention work.

The expected outcomes for programme include promoting positive outcomes for children at risk of offending, reduce offending and risk-taking behaviour and improve wellbeing. Through direct work with children and families and broader awareness raising through schools. Community Youth Connectors will work with girls aged 8-15yrs, experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and struggling to engage with services. The role provides a conduit between services, offering support to children to access initial sessions through empowerment and awareness. The intended cohort includes girls already in or at risk of entering the Youth Justice system. The aim is to work with the young girls and their families to encourage engagement with services to address poor mental health, reduced risks of child exploitation, improve school attendance and promote positive activities.

We have a new position for a Community Youth Connector to support the delivery of the programme. As the successful candidate you will deliver direct work with females aged 8-15 years old. You will carry a caseload for a number of children. You will have experience of working with children and families as well as partners to improve outcomes for children. We are looking for a motivated individual to support the development of a new area of work and we would welcome innovation and enthusiasm.

The role will be office based and will include agile working within the community, also you may need to work outside of core hours on occasions to respond to the needs of the child.

Expected salary: £26421 – 29777 per year
