Job description: We are currently recruiting for Construction Assurance Manager to join our Projects team within Manchester.

As a Construction Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all light rail construction projects across the network, ensuring their compliance to quality and safety requirements, detailed design, and statutory construction standards.

Working under the guidance of the Projects Director, this role will lead on the assurance of these projects are delivered to specification, against regulatory, cost and quality standards.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team through ensuring objectives, standards and key performance indicators are met.
  • Contribute to building an inclusive culture, taking a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours and attitudes that go against the FREDIE culture, escalating matters to management when appropriate.
  • Ensure own health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace, ensuring the zero harm principles and just culture is demonstrated in all ways of working.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Oversee all project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to established quality standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to evaluate the quality of construction work, materials, and processes.
  • Identify and manage quality and construction-related issues, non-compliance, and deviations from project specifications.
  • Review and ensure the establishment, application, and compliance with all necessary safety standards, including pre-construction works and during construction works as necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and suppliers in relation to quality and construction standards.
  • Working closely with internal QS and Procurement Leads to ensure alignment with quality and construction contractual standards and deliverables as established and agreed.
  • Prepare and present regular reports as necessary on quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiative

Expected salary: £68000 per year
