Job description: Absolute Solar & Wind, Part of the RSK Group is currently seeking to appoint a Construction and Commissioning Manager on a full time, permanent basis to work across the Greater Glasgow area.
ASAW are renewable energy specialists helping businesses to install contemporary low carbon technologies in solar, wind, biomass and energy efficiency solutions. We work in partnership with international designers and manufacturers ensuring that Absolute can access and install the best available technologies.
Responsibilites:
- Building constructability into design through the technical concept/design phase
- Responsible for all site resource allocation across all including sub-contractors to meet the Project schedule
- Reviewing all existing and new sub-contractors’ capability and making recommendations to the Leadership Team on selection to be used based on capability, availability and processes/procedure compliance to UK codes and practices
- Supporting Finance Dept technically in final selection of sub-contractors to negotiate pricing structure
- Issue written site instructions following agreement from the Project Manager and authenticate any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.
- Ensure that a drawing documentation system is established on site, which clearly indexes drawings logged and filed in specific sections.
Qualifications / Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as Construction Manager/Site Supervisor in the UK Energy Industry
- Good understanding of UK HSE legislation for onsite working
- Electrical discipline background to NVQ Level 4 or similar
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- IT Proficient in Microsoft packages
- Full UK driving licence
- Prepared to travel to UK sites as and when required
- Renewable solar experience would be an advantage
