Workpack engineers are an important cog in the machine. On receiving a new scope of work from the client, Workpack engineers review the information to assess the scope of works and put together a pack with all relevant documents and information to allow construction teams to successfully complete the installation works.

Workpack engineers work alongside the construction team to ensure all documents are approved and kept up to date. Any changes or deviation from the documents are captured and documents revised accordingly to reflect the construction works.

What you’ll be doing

As a/an Work Pack Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE attitude and a strong Nuclear Safety Culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the project.
  • Support the work pack Lead in the day-to-day production of Construction work packs and associated documentation.
  • Accountable to deliver discipline specific construction Workpack scope of works to support MEH construction activities
  • Ensure documents are compliant with latest works information and Client procedures.
  • Ensure all construction activities detailed in the Workpack conform with relevant specifications.
  • Use of core experience & engineering skills to assess practicalities and risks associated with construction activities identified in the work pack.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant design discipline drawings with the ability to identify errors and non-conformance.
  • Ensure documents are kept up to date and reviewed periodically as per Clients procedure
  • Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status > 90% first time accepted criteria
  • Support continuous Improvement programmes to improve process/procedures

Who we’re looking for

What we’re looking for;

  • Time served Electrical discipline / HNC/HND in electrical engineering.
  • 4 – 5 years industry experience of creating work pack documents within a major infrastructure project-based environment or Graduates to have 2-3 years experience.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience of working with engineering to improve the user experience (design and user interface), to help refine content and to create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
  • Extensive experience of using Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (Preferred).
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport.
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of engineering standards.
  • Understand and read drawings, understand scopes
  • Articulate, knowledgeable and confident to challenge when required
