Job description: We have a great opportunity based at our Bedford campus for a Construction Technician to become a key member of our Construction and Building Services department.
As a Construction Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:
- Positively promoting equality of opportunity for staff and students
- Supporting the delivery of courses offered within the College by ensuring the preparation and maintenance of learning materials and/or tools and equipment, and maintaining the upkeep and cleanliness of the workshops.
- Ensuring appropriate tools/equipment are prepared for student use.
Our ideal candidates will have experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.) and appropriate experience in a similar role, alongside the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Maths & English
- A formal appropriate qualification

Contract Type – Bedford College Professional Services
- 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
- 27 days per annum (plus public holidays), pro rata for part-time
