Are you passionate about construction and eager to share your expertise? We’re looking for a dedicated Construction Tutor to join our dynamic team!
Key Duties:
- Designing and writing curriculum, whilst developing and maintaining inspirational and motivating teaching resources.
- Deliver consistently good or better teaching sessions, incorporating an effective range of learning strategies and technologies that enable outstanding learning outcomes.
- Deliver flexible training to meet the needs of our students.
Across the following subjects
- Construction – Modern Methods
- Trade specialist/Multi trades
- Designing of the construction Bootcamp courses ensuring the curriculum meets the needs and training requirements of the employers and industry skills gaps.
- Deliver Construction Bootcamp courses for a rolling caseload of students.
- Provide recruitment and selection support to build your caseload of students.
- Provide both academic and pastoral support to students, working with them to raise their ambition and aspiration, ensuring they realise their full potential.
- Undertake all aspects of student assessment including participating in the internal quality assurance process, and liaising with external verifiers and awarding bodies as required.
- Comply with the college’s maths and English strategy, maintaining your ability to embed both subjects into your teaching practice.
- Work with colleagues responsible for student services to deliver an overall student experience, which engages, inspires, and prepares students for the world of work. Work with your manager and the quality team to continually strive for excellence and improve standards.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities for employer engagement in the learning process.
- Support college marketing and recruitment activities to attract potential learners and improve conversion rates.
Required Skills:
- PTLLS qualification or other relevant teacher training – Essential
- Level 2 in maths and English – Essential
- Experience of teaching construction and trade – Essential
- Experience of quality improvement and effective curriculum design – Essential
- Assessors Award a1 – Desirable
- Ability to deliver flexibility to meet the needs of students.
