As EMEA Corporate Tax Associate in EMEA Corporate Tax department you will gain exposure to multiple J.P. Morgan lines of business and work closely with Finance and other key stakeholders on meeting the Bank’s tax compliance and tax accounting obligations. The role provides for an excellent opportunity to understand how a global bank like J.P. Morgan operates.
The position is based in the tax compliance team of the wider EMEA Corporate Tax department, which is largely based in London.
Job Responsibilities
- Runs tax provisions and disclosures for UK companies’ statutory accounts (this will include liaising with the auditors) and associated accounting journals
- Prepares and reviews corporate tax computations and returns
- Prepares monthly accruals, forecasting and annual returns – Bank Levy
- Deals with tax authority enquiries
- Manages the Group Payment Arrangement, including preparation and arranging payment of quarterly instalment payments
- Prepares group relief claims and surrenders
- Involves with other ad hoc corporate tax issues as required e.g. acquisitions, changes to legislation, restructures etc
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills(looks good)
- A qualified professional with a recognized accounting and / or tax qualification
- A self-motivated team player who is able to prioritize and work to demanding deadlines
- A knowledge of the UK corporation tax regime with strong tax accounting skills
- Knowledge of the bank levy rules would be helpful
- An individual focused on operating within and enhancing the existing tax risk and control framework
- Experience of Onesource Corporation Tax software
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent research, analytical and reasoning skills
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills (looks good)
- Knowledge of SAP or CDGL an advantage
- Previous experience of working in a tax department of a US investment bank an advantage
