Job description: We have a vacancy for a Cost Accounts Assistant to join our team, based at our site in Linton, Cambridgeshire.

The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller and work closely with the site finance team, the wider site team, as well as with finance colleagues across the Pilgrim’s UK group. You will provide support and guidance to the commercial and new product development teams on costing and pricing for new and existing products. You will carry out analysis and provide feedback on pricing and costing of products to generate value, as well as support the Financial Controller in reporting financial results.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of SAP, excellent Excel skills, an analytical approach and a keen eye for detail. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to build on experience gained across different aspects of management accounting, including month end processes, reconciliations and cost accounting. It is also a great stepping stone for someone who has recently completed AAT or in the early stages of CIMA studies, with the possibility of support for ongoing study for the right candidate.

Essential:

  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Have good knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel, Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise
  • Work well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Work well in a team, and be able to build strong relationships internally and externally of finance

Desirable

  • Early stages/part qualified in CIMA/ACCA

Although not essential, it would be advantageous if you have knowledge/ experience of cooked meat manufacturing
