Job description: Are you an experienced Cost Estimator looking for a new opportunity?

JMC are working with a leading MRO Organisation based in Prestwick, looking to recruit a Cost Estimator to join their expanding team.

This is a Permanent Position based in Prestwick with an immediate start date.

The responsibilities of the Cost Estimator will involve:

– Understanding the project/program and its requirements

– Generating timely and competitive estimates

– Generating critical path production plans based on scope of work received, to generate TAT estimation

– Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and available tooling in order to develop costing information for development of quotations

– Developing manhour and material quotations in response to customer request for quotation

– Providing detailed estimates of work scopes in line with client requirements

– Providing a point of contact for the customers in reference to RFQ’s

– Liaising with production to ensure estimates are as accurate as possible

– Developing, maintaining and upkeeping a library of MPD, SB, AD etc data

– Analysing past inputs to ensure factor ratios used are relevant

– Reading and understanding aircraft maintenance manuals

– Ensuring any health & safety elements of work scope are identified

– Working with the Planning team to ensure any major changes to work packs are correctly quoted

– Working closely with the Commercial team to ensure all RFQs are actively responded to

– Reviewing performance against estimate pertaining to costs associated with contracts awarded

– Actively support and participate in continuous improvements activities and team meetings

In order to be successful in this role, the Cost Estimator will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

– A330 experience is essential

– O level or GCSE A-C standard grades

– Proven experience as an estimator or similar position

– Familiarity with finance and project management principles

– Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be preferable but not essential

– Proficient in IT and the use of software

– Right to live and work in the UK
