Crew Planning, Resourcing and Logistics Senior Manager

Based in Luton

Purpose of the position:

The Senior Manager of Crew Planning, Resourcing and Logistics supports the development, leadership, oversight, and management of all aspects of the Wizz Air UK (WUK) crew planning, logistics and crew resourcing functions while developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders within other areas if the Wizz Air Group.

The role’s primary responsibility is to deliver on the KPIs set out by the Wizz Air Group in terms of crew utilization, crew cost controls and logistics to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant crew planning and execution function whilst delivering on ULCC principles.

Key responsibilities

Senior Manager – Crew Planning, resourcing and logistics is responsible for:

  • Ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant Crew Planning, resourcing and logistics in accordance with all WUK operations manuals and operations planning and logistics procedures.
  • Ensure crew resources are adequate to fulfil the commercial schedule, highlighting any shortfall or risks within the delivery of the commercial schedule.
  • Recruitment, development, and management of the crew planning, resourcing, and logistics teams to achieve operational readiness, delivery, and excellence of the schedule, and ensuring sound economic decision-making processes in line with ULCC principles.
  • Ensures compliance with flight time limitations as approved by the UK CAA.
  • Ensuring that any policy and procedures pertaining to crew planning, resourcing and logistics recommended by the stakeholders of the Wizz Air group, shall comply with the applicable UK regulations.
  • Ensuring that any policy and procedures pertaining to crew planning, resourcing and logistics, recommended by the stakeholders of the Wizz Air group, shall contribute to the operational KPIs.
  • Ensures the provision of crew planning, resourcing and logistics services which contribute to the WUK Safety Management System.
  • Maintain an up-to-date operations planning and logistics manuals, for approval by the nominated person flight operations.
  • Suggest improvements to crew planning, resourcing via the flight operations management meetings and flight operations safety action groups.
  • As required, attend meetings and liaising with the UK CAA regarding regulations, compliance and oversight.
  • Ensuring the crew planning, resourcing and logistics resources are sufficient to meet the demands of the operation, both in AOC and within the common Wizz Air Group structure.
  • In conjunction with the WUK safety and compliance team ensuring that crew planning, resourcing and logistics has a robust internal audit function with particular emphasis in ensuring compliance with the flight operations manual suite.
  • In conjunction with the WUK safety and compliance team respond to safety reports relating to crew planning, resourcing and logistics ensuring robust corrective actions where applicable.
  • Participate in the risk assessment of hazards identified in the crew planning, resourcing, and logistics domain.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and comment on the future and current commercial schedule.
  • Analyze and report on periodic crew planning, resourcing and logistics, including violations.
  • Establishment and continuous development of procedures and resources with the Senior Manager Operational Control of WUK.
  • Monitoring all health and safety matters affecting crew planning, resourcing and logistics staff and taking steps to address any issues arising.
  • Monitor crew cost controls and deliver on ULCC principles, minimizing cost and finding efficiencies where practicable.

Minimum requirements:
