Job description: South Hampshire College Group are recruiting for an ambitious, professional, resilient and respectful:

Curriculum Area Manager

Competitive salary of £44,061 per annum with Teachers Pension Scheme.

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year [Fixed-Term Contract]

Specialism in one or more of the areas of management is desirable not essential.

Curriculum Areas (Southampton Campus):

  • ESOL and Community Learning

Duties:

  • To ensure that the work of the curriculum area is managed, developed and reviewed in accordance with college policies to ensure the highest standards of student experience and quality performance.
  • To assist the Curriculum Director in the management and review of the curriculum in accordance with College policies.
  • Undertake a teaching programme and all aspects of the teaching and learning process.
  • To participate in liaison activities associated with the programme area and those relating to the College provision.
  • Develop and maintain professional competence in the post and in other duties performed on behalf of the Curriculum of the College.

Skills/experience:

  • Utilising your wealth of experience in teaching to manage and develop curriculum areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels.
  • Well organised and hold an excellent range of communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IT packages.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
  • Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications.
  • Level 3 qualification in relevant area of expertise.
  • Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe).
  • Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications.
