Customer Service Adviser (Info Point) at UWE, Bristol

February 15, 2024

Job Description

About us : Student Information and Advice provides support services for students to help them to develop academically, professionally, and personally. Information Points operate across all UWE campuses as a first point of contact for student queries, where dedicated staff provide advice and access to support from specialist teams on a wide variety of emotional and practical issues – from money management, fees and funding to course-related issues and wellbeing.

About you : We are looking for 2 enthusiastic, customer-focused, resilient, and flexible individuals to work full time, 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. Currently there is the opportunity to work in a hybrid way, working from home on occasion.

These vacancies are based mainly at our Frenchay campus and working a shift pattern. Hours will be primarily 11:00-19:00 but 9:00-17:00 at times, on a rota basis throughout term time (hours will be 9:00-17:00 out of term time) but will involve suitable notice.

You will work on front desks dealing with queries as they arise in a fast paced and pressurised environment, triaging queries and referring or signposting where appropriate. You will also provide support in back-office locations handling telephone calls, emails, appointment bookings and other routine admin tasks.

The Information Point service supports students who are often in emotional distress. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and customer care skills and who can approach their work in a calm, positive and empathetic manner. A knowledge of student experience within a Higher Education setting is desirable, along with an understanding of mental health issues.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
