Job description: Customs coordinator, Permanent, Aberdeen.
Our customer is a world-wide Freight and logistics number. The role is to work within the Customs Consultancy team, where you will provide bespoke advice, tailored to meet the requirement of clients, provide a high level of customer service and up to date training to help them achieve full compliance with UK import and export regulations. You will also help clients find and implement flexible solutions to ensure processes are compliant whilst looking to reduce costs. The team also assist clients during customs compliance audits. You will be mentored to further your knowledge and skills to advance you into a consulting role.
The ideal candidate understands and complies conscientiously with company standards, guidelines and policies, including but not limited to QA, Health & Safety, Aviation Security, Compliance, HMRC Regulations etc.
You are required to operate within:
o QHSE, human resources and standard operating procedures
o Legal requirements including but not limited to dangerous goods, customs, quarantine and transport security
o Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance guidelines
o Customers policies and procedures
o Attend any HMRC intervention at the request of our client to provide support
o Work closely with Sales and Operations teams
o Freight forwarding/Logistics/Customs familiarity is essential
o Experience of Microsoft office essential
o Experience of Visio or similar package desirable
o Strong communicator both written and verbal
o Ability to work on own initiative
o Good organisational skills
o Displays a positive attitude
o Ability to understand and read HMRC Customs Declarations
