We have an exciting position available for a Sports Coach- Dance and Rise Gymnastics. This role will be based within the Dance and Gymnastic Development Teams, classes will take place during the day and evenings at various locations across Salford.

We are looking to appoint someone who has a strong background in street dance and has significant experience in delivering sessions to different abilities in a variety of settings. Guided by the Dance Development Officer, the successful candidate will prepare their street dance students for shows, competitions, events and exams.

The successful candidate will also work alongside the Gymnastics Development Officer to be mentored and trained to be able to deliver a new and exciting programme from British Gymnastics- RISE Gymnastics. A background and understanding of Gymnastics are desirable, however a wiliness to learn, attend mentoring and training to be able to deliver the fundamental principles of movement and gymnastics is essential.

You will also be asked to work on dance/gymnastic events, activities and exam sessions as required by the Dance and Gymnastics Development Teams.

The dance team deliver a variety of classes across Salford in a number of dance styles including, Street dance, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz and dance and movement classes for people with a disability. We also deliver classes for local Primary and Secondary Schools in a variety of dance styles. The team award winning competitors and offer our students the opportunity to take part in exams with the IDTA, with which we have a 100% pass rate. Our students are also given the opportunity to take part at shows and events at The Lowry Theatre.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Will deliver high quality Street Dance sessions to a wide range of participants, in a variety of settings. You may also be asked to teach lessons in other genres of dance. The dance sessions may be delivered during day-time, evening and occasional weekends as required
  • Will attend mentoring and training with the Gymnastics Development Officer to delivery RISE Gymnastics
  • Will attend the British Gymnastics Activity Instructors course in February 2024
  • Will ensure that all the activities undertaken at the dance sessions, activities, events or exams are appropriate for the ages and abilities of the participants
  • Will ensure the health and safety of participants, team members and others during the class, event or activity
  • Consistently demonstrates SCL’s behaviours.

The payment for this will be deducted from your first two months’ salary payments at a rate of £19.00 per month.
