We do this honestly, ethically and by treating our customers with dignity and respect.We buy debts from lots of different companies in all kinds of sectors as well as provide collection services for other businesses.Our focus on sustainability, hybrid working, leadership development and career progression makes working at Lowell a rewarding experience.As part of this role, the analyst will work within the Data Governance Team, the Data Governance and Reporting Analyst will look to perform a variety of tasks that will ensure the data community have confidence the data used in our everyday decision making is accurate by ensuring key data sources are robustly monitored and issues promptly resolved, and reports are centrally produced.Accountabilities and Responsibilities:Ensure key sources of data are accurate, governed and understood by:Documenting full Data Lineage of key Metrics and Definitions with definitions, calculations, source systems and data points stored and surfaced in appropriate tooling.Usage of key Metrics and Definitions stored in DWH is monitored to ensure access is only available to the appropriate peopleData Quality is monitored to ensure it is well populated and accurate / as expected.Use SQL Tooling to understand the content of complex data sources and manipulations.Ensure the quality of data points are maintained and automatically governed. Monitoring is in place to highlight data quality issuesSupport the Data and Reporting Governance and wider Data Teams by contributing to the implementation and adherence of Data Issue resolution processes:Design automated governance rules to highlight issues with data population, quality or unexpected data distribution.Provide feedback to the Data Teams on any data quality issuesProactively suggest improvements to Data and reporting Governance practices and policies to improve the value the Data and Reporting Governance Team provides Lowell.Catalogue and action Reporting Governance to ensure reports are logged and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure:A manageable reporting estate Report Ownership Decommissioning of reports (and possibly data) when neededUsing SQL and PowerBI to build prototype Metrics, Dimensions and DashboardsUse SQL data mining to understand the data being usedUse SQL to rebuild manual reports in a automated mannerUse Power BI to visualise reporting based on consistent dataWhat we need from you:Experience of using Informatica software platform.AssertivenessAbility to articulate and hold their own in pressured conversations and manage expectations of others whilst working under pressure.InitiativeRequires little or no supervision and will seek support if necessary.Understands the necessity to forward plan and think through potential complications.Ability to make sense of issues; identify appropriate solutions to problems and act accordingly.Proactively suggests ideas for improvements around working practices.CredibilityLeads by example.Confident individual who can deal with people at all levels.Demonstrates credibility and appropriate verbal and non-verbal behaviour.Ability to gain the respect from all members of the business.AdaptabilityMaintains good performance and quality of work under pressure and is prepared to manage change at the last minute.Adapts style when necessary.Team effectivenessBuilds effective team relationships.Creates conditions to enable the team to perform at its best by setting clear direction, providing appropriate structure, and recruitment of the right people.Provides the support needed to the team in respect of personal development and coaching.Organisation and planningHas the aptitude to prioritise, plan and organise workloads and the ability to manage expectations and deadlines.Oral and written communicationAbility, confidence, and professionalism to convey written and oral information clearly, concisely and persuasively.CommitmentHas the drive and energy to undertake all tasks displaying the same level of motivation and enthusiasm.EmpathyHave tact, diplomacy, and an ability to anticipate and deal with the varying needs and concerns of others.Able to relate well to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired objectives.A mission that gives back:You’ll also have lots of opportunities to make an impact on your personal development.
